There was a king who had twelve beautiful daughters.	Ada seorang raja yang mempunyai dua belas anak perempuan yg cantik.
They slept in twelve beds all in one room and when they went to bed, the doors were shut and locked up.	Mereka tidur pada duabelas tempat tidur dalam satu kamar dan bila mereka akan tidur, pintu ditutup dan dikunci.
However, every morning their shoes were found to be quite worn through as if they had been danced in all night.	Tapi, setiap pagi sepatu mereka didapati lusuh seakan telah mereka menari sepanjang malam.
Nobody could find out how it happened, or where the princesses had been.	Tidak ada yg mengetahui bagaimana hal itu terjadi, atau apa dilakukan puteri ini.
So the king made it known to all the land that if any person could discover the secret and find out where it was that the princesses danced in the night, he would have the one he liked best to take as his wife, and would be king after his death.	Hingga sang raja membuat pengumuman di seantero negeri jika ada orang yg dapat menemukan rahasia dan mencari tahu di mana para puteri menari pada malam hari, maka akan mendapatkan yg tercantik sesuai pilihan sendiri untuk jadi istrinya, dan nanti akan menjadi raja setelah kematiannya.
But whoever tried and did not succeed, after three days and nights, they would be put to death.	Tetapi siapa pun yg mencoba tidak berhasil, setelah tiga hari tiga malam mereka menghadapi kematian.
A king’s son soon came.	Seorang anak Raja pun muncul dgn segera.
He was well entertained, and in the evening was taken to the chamber next to the one where the princesses lay in their twelve beds.	Dia dijamu dgn baik, dan pada malam hari dibawa ke salah satu ruangan yg bersebelahan dgn kamar tempat keduabelas tempat tidur para puteri berada.
There he was to sit and watch where they went to dance; and, in order that nothing could happen without him hearing it, the door of his chamber was left open.	Di sana mengamati di mana mereka pergi menari, dan, @yg diatur hingga tidak ada yang kejadian tanpa dia mendengar, pintu kamar dibiarkan terbuka.
But the king’s son soon fell asleep; and when he awoke in the morning he found that the princesses had all been dancing, for the soles of their shoes were full of holes.	Tetapi anak Raja pun segera jatuh tertidur, dan ketika dia bangun di pagi hari, dia mendapatkan semuanya puteri telah menari, karena sepatu mereka penuh dengan lubang.
The same thing happened the second and third night and so the king ordered his head to be cut off.	Hal yang sama terjadi pada malam kedua dan ketiga hingga Raja memerintahkan kepada kepalanya pun dipenggal.
